WhatsApp launches version of messenger for Google Chrome
To authorize users in the web version, a system of QR codes is used. To enter the messenger under your account, which in the mobile version is tied to a phone number, you need to read the QR code from the computer screen using your smartphone with an updated version of WhatsApp. After that, both versions, mobile and computer, are connected. The new version of the messenger with a built-in QR scanner is available only for Android, Windows Phone and BlackBerry. On iOS, it has not yet been released.
According to The Independent, WhatsApp, with an audience of 600 million users, leads the way in instant messaging applications. It is followed by the Line app, then by WeChat, and after it by Viber. In February 2014, the WhatsApp messenger was purchased by Facebook for $ 19 billion.
