V-22 hovercraft launched on an “elephant walk”

Two dozen MV-22B Osprey convertiplanes and 16 CH-53E Super Stallion helicopters took off from the airbase in turn at intervals of a few seconds: this exercise is known to the military as the “elephant walk”. It is carried out to develop skills in controlling aircraft in close construction, which is sometimes necessary in real combat missions. The exercise, which took place at the Miramir airbase of the US Marine Corps, demonstrated, according to the US military, the operational readiness of flying equipment.
