Iodine tablets will be distributed to those living near the plant

About 2.2 million people living in a radius of 20 km from each of the 19 nuclear power plants in the country, as well as employees of about 200, 000 institutions in the designated area will be able to receive iodine tablets for free.

This will be the re-distribution of iodine. For the first time in France, tablets were given out for free in 2016 - 5 years after the disaster at the Japanese nuclear power plant in Fukushima. Then, 50% of the population living within a radius of 10 km from nuclear power plants took advantage of iodine.

Recall that in France, which is the world leader in the share of nuclear energy in the country, there are 19 nuclear power plants with 58 reactors.
