Furiously overclocking Fury: HyperX Fury DDR4 RAM test

“Predator”, “Impact”, “Rage”: Kingston is not shy in the names of its RAM modules, hinting at their high performance and overclocking potential. The editors of Popular Mechanics received two 16 GB HyperX Fury Black DDR4 modules, which we installed on an AMD processor-based desktop computer.

In the line of RAM, the new modules with the HX434C16FB3K2 / 32 index are positioned as the most affordable solution from HyperX in terms of price-quality ratio. The start of sales was announced on September 10, 2019, and the cost was slightly less than 15 thousand rubles for a set of two slats of 16 GB each. The minimum bracket size is 4 GB, the maximum kit is 64 GB.

According to official specifications, the memory is capable of operating at frequencies 2400/2666/2933/3000/3200/3466 MHz. Moreover, Kingston claims that the new Fury automatically accelerates to the highest declared frequency, up to 3466 MHz. Support for Plug N Play for games, video editing and rendering on Intel and AMD processors provides automatic memory overclocking at 2400 and 2666 MHz without any intervention in the BIOS and increasing voltage. The modules support XMP profiles and have a latency of CL15-16, and low-profile heat sinks control the temperature.

The appearance of HyperX Fury memory has also been updated: it has become more concise. Radiators are installed quite low, the height of the bar is 34.1 mm, the thickness is 7.2 mm, and the length is standard for UDIMM slots. This will allow you to install memory along with coolers of impressive size. The modules can also be equipped with a customizable RGB backlight that uses infrared sync technology: no wires need to be connected. Error Correction Technology (ECC) for these modules do not.
