Challenger explosion: how they reacted to the disaster at the MCC

The astronaut and astronaut are certainly heroic professions, but behind each of them are hundreds of people on earth who create spacecraft and control flights. Calmness, willpower and lightning fast reaction are necessary not only in the sky, but also in the mission control center. Popular mechanics suggests watching a video from NASA's Houston MCC, filmed at the time of the Challenger shuttle crash that occurred exactly 33 years ago.

One of the largest accidents in the history of manned space exploration occurred on January 28, 1986 and claimed the lives of seven astronauts. As a result, the Space Shuttle program was suspended for almost three years, and the design of the shuttles and their accelerators was significantly redesigned.
